What I’ll Miss…and Won’t Miss
Here I am doing lists again. Read here and here if you need to catch up on why I’m doing this list.
Things I’ll Miss About Life In Wisconsin
- The quiet country roads
- The commute – it gave me time to listen to the upteen Podcasts I subscribe to.
- The railtrail right by my house
- My kayaking/rock climbing/zip lining outdoor buddy
- Looking out my bedroom window at the wetlands. Very relaxing
- Interaction with my co-workers. They are TOO funny
- Lake Michigan was only an hour away for beach, sand and salmon fishing
- Quaint Wisconsin towns like Kohler, Door County, anything along The Great River Trail
- My awesome patio with a pergola and water feature. I hope the new owners appreciate it.
- My cat’s vet – he is one of the “good ones” and Sybils was starting to like him.
- The local meat shop
- The hunt club that’s 10 min away and has awesome fish fry
- Pretty much any Wisconsin fish fry
- All the hard work my husband and I put into the yard & home
- The little brewery that doesn’t sell food or have ice, but they have great bands on the weekends
- Fellow Packer, Badger and Brewer fans. So I’ll miss Camp Randall and Miller Park.
- Madison airport – for a regional, it is really nice and easy to get in/out.
Things I Won’t Miss At All, Not One
- The commute – I drove 80 miles a day. It’s not so much the gas and wear and tear as the time out of your LIFE
- Neighbors
- Looking at ugly houses
- The non-stop road construction on I-94, Hwy 26 and every other road around me
- The insanely high property taxes
- The lack of culture in the area
- The post office that’s only open ONE AND HALF hours on Saturdays
- People who drive in our subdivision like it’s a race track
- “Capital Chaos” ‘nough said
- Cleaning sidewalks in the winter. (Why do subdivisions have sidewalks when everyone walks in the street anyway?)
- Illinoisans driving “up north”
- Having three grocery stores a minimum of eight miles away. Same with pharmacies, doctors and hospitals
- Non-direct flights
I’m already missing you. But as long as we plan enough events, we’ll be ok. 🙂
LOL! yes we will.
