Alas, the outdoor show formally known simply as “the Harrisburg show” (as in, Harrisburg, PA) has returned with a new feel and exhibit manager (NRA) as the Great American Outdoor Show. I’ve never attended this show, but I’ve heard many good things about it. And only two bad things: 1. Its very large and 2. its in the farm show complex so the smells from the summer showing season tend to come out every so often, but you get used to it.
I attended the show on behalf of Sportsman Channel to help facilitate the talent in our booth and make sure things run smoothly. So here’s my time in Harrisburg, PA – in pictures.
First up: Scott Leysath of The Sporting Chef had demos all weekend. Usually he makes Rabbit Rattlesnake Sausage, but this time it was quail with a chipotle sauce and elk
This is Cam Edwards signing a shirt from a very excited NRA member. The things they ask people to sign.
And then Steven Rinella joined the party to teach people how to make sausage. That was kind of messy to clean up
On Wednesday, Melissa Bachman of “Winchester’s Deadly Passion” signed autographs in our booth and boy, did she have a line!!
No, I didn’t take a pic of Pig Man’s behind – I took a pic of him taking a wireless mic from the NRANEWS guys during their radio show. Let’s just say he had a little back and forth with host, Cam Edwards, while he was signing autographs.
I was lucky to stare at this taxidermy masterpiece all week long as it sat right across from our booth. The more I look at it, the more it kind of freaks me out.
And the highlight of my trip: spending time with The Gunny aka R. Lee Ermey. He is a true gentleman and I hope I get to be his “Handler” again in the future. (Cam Edwards, host of Cam & Co. on NRANEWS on the left)
Good job, Michelle! I enjoyed your tweets from the show and your recap in the blog. 🙂
