I Don’t Like Slow Music

Call me crazy, but I don’t like slow music.

I was disappointed that Beyonce ended her performance at halftime with “Halo” – a slow song – right after her rockin’ moves previously.

I remember as a kid creating music lists for school dances and I skipped all slow songs. I scrunched up my nose and pushed “fast forward” on the tape deck to the next song. My mom laughed at me at the time. It never occured to me that a slow song meant I get to dance with a boy. I just wanted to MOVE!

And now, I’m purging my iTunes music library. I have more than 1500 songs and who really needs that many? I’m sure there’s a formula for how long it would take me to listen to my library of music. And again, I’m amusing myself because I’m automatically scrunching my nose and pointing my mouse over the “skip” button to any slow songs. The last one I just purged was Tim McGraw’s “I do, but I don’t,” as in, I like you Tim, but I don’t like your slow music.

Enya is the only exception to this rule. Anything by Enya is okay by me.

So does this blog post have a meaning? Yes, shut up and dance and don’t waste your life drinking disgusting wine or listening to music you don’t enjoy.
